Nursing Home Problems

LAF is the regional long-term care ombudsman for suburban Cook County (except Evanston) and for Lake County.  The Ombudsman Project provides information about nursing homes.  It also visits nursing homes and assisted living facilities on a regular basis.  Ombudsman staff work with nursing home residents, resident councils, and family members of nursing home residents to address individual and systemic complaints about nursing home care.  Ombudsman staff also handle Medicaid and involuntary discharge cases.
