The Young Professionals Board (YPB) supports the mission and programs of LAF, helping to raise the resources needed to make equal justice a reality for the most vulnerable people in our community. Active participation on the YPB provides opportunities to members to expand their professional networks, develop leadership experience, meet professional ethical obligations, and develop a personal philanthropic relationship with LAF.
Joining the YPB is simple. Members make an initial annual donation of $100 when they join ($25 for law students), and each member of the YPB is expected to fulfill three additional obligations:
- Attending a minimum of 2 of the 4 quarterly membership meetings
- Attending a minimum of 2 of the 3 LAF/YPB annual fundraising events (Justice Is Served Spring Gala / LAF Annual Luncheon / YPB Autumn Affair)
- Active participation in committee projects, special YPB initiatives, and member networking events
The YPB uses a special points tracking system to assist members in meeting their membership obligations, and to ensure member activities continue to align with member interests and board priorities. With a variety of projects and initiatives happening throughout the year, fulfilling your YPB membership obligation is easy – and fun!
